old emotional weather — fear that no longer has a present cause,
sadness over a story that no longer applies, the contracted
posture of an earlier self — the transmission names these as old
signals echoing rather than current truths broadcasting. The body
is the densest layer; it updates last.

## Details

The nervous system encodes the long-running emotional state of the
self that lived in it for years. When that self begins dissolving,
the encoded patterns do not vanish at the moment of insight. They
play out across days, weeks, months — the same patterns the body
has rehearsed thousands of times.

The transmission's gift here is the precise distinction: this is
not a live broadcast, this is an echo. A live broadcast says "the
threat is now, respond." An echo says "the body is remembering a
threat that was once now, but is not now anymore." The two feel
similar from inside the body. Recognizing which one is happening
is the practice.

Practical markers of the echo:

- The trigger fires but the situation that originally encoded it
  is no longer present.
- The emotion arises with full intensity but no proportional
  current cause.
- The body's posture matches a former relationship or environment
  that has ended.
- After a period of new clarity, an old shame or fear surges back
  for an hour or a day, then subsides without leaving a mark.

Echoes need to play out. Suppressing them keeps them encoded.
Recognizing them as echoes lets them complete and dissipate.

## Practice

- When old emotion arises, ask: *is this a live broadcast or an
  echo?* If echo: name it. *This is the old signal. The body is
  remembering. I am letting it pass through.*
- Do not act on echoes as if they were live broadcasts. The actions
  the old signal asks for were appropriate to the old situation,
  not the current one.
- Trust that echoes get quieter with each cycle the nervous system
  completes without re-encoding.
